3 Lessons:
1) BE LEAN! Don't waste time building code until you know there is a need. We made revenue off of using a simple landing page and someone else's ticketing platform just to prove to ourselves, not investors, we had demand for our product. Now that we've proven that we are starting to build code based strictly off our our user behavior. 2) Don't be afraid to be wrong/fail. I see entrepreneurs all of the time who are afraid to say that they have a bad idea in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. At Coupla, we started out by being a match making service for couples with no off-line platform built in but after doing a lot of surveys we learned that wasn't the way to go about it, so we let that idea go and focused where the evidence took us. Now we're seeing a lot of success! 3) Love what you're doing. We build Coupla because we're all married, love our wives, LOVE the events we've created and LOVE meeting other amazing couples. Every time we have an event coming up I start getting excited the week before because I can't wait. That excitement over the product and the love and passion we have for our mission to make happy couples happier drives us everyday.
